Her Campus #10

My friend recently introduced me to site called HerCampus. It is a website that caters to your college. It has fun, exciting news, pictures and blogs. I searched FIT and noticed there was a campus style blog. In the blog, there are posts about interview inspiration outfits, how to prepare your wardrobe for Spring and a "how to wear that" post. The posts are made by students and you can really relate to them! I will definitely continue to check out this website!

Here are all the different sections on the site:

KCD's visual fashion shows are partnering with accessories line Swarovski. This digital platform showcase provides detailed collection material for partnering brands. The images with be embeddable and downloadable for the audience and include designer inspiration videos. You can really get a feel for the collection and how it was started. It is a more personal way for someone to see a collection.

Tory Burch Lookbook #8

I really enjoy going to my favorite designer's websites and looking through their lookbooks for the season. It is a fun way to see the clothing on a person and how the designer put each piece together into one cohesive look. I was on Tory Burch's website and decided to click on her Spring 2013 lookbook. The backdrops are gorgeous as well as the clothing and accessories put together. The colors are fun, bright and it makes you want to be in that destination. I love the direction of Tory Burch's bohemian chic look for Spring 2013. There are classic styles with an easy, feminine but bohemian touch.
There are even videos to make it more interactive. You can really see and enjoy the clothing. With each slide in the lookbook, you can click a link that says "shop this look" and it will direct you right to where you can buy the whole outfit!

Trunk Show #7

I have never attended a trunk show before! At Rebecca Minkoff's trunk show this past summer, champagne was given out and a lucky winner was given one of her handbags as well as a free gift with every purchase. I would love to go to trunk shows of my favorite designers to network and really see merchandise up close and personal. I think it is a fun, interesting way for designers to display their new designs. It also gives a feeling of exclusivity like you aren't just going into a department store and purchasing her new collection; you are at a special event seeing her designs in a new light.

Rebecca Taylor Spring 2013 #6

Rebecca Taylor Spring/Summer 2013 Runway Show

Rebecca Taylor is one of my favorite designers. She uses amazing fabrics with fun colors and patterns.

These are a few of my favorite looks. Before her show Rebecca Taylor stated "I'm really a hippie at heart". Her line was inspired by a summer spent in the city so her clothes are a bit more urban inspired this season. Her clothes can be worn with such ease and they are young and fun. The bright Spring colors are very happy and I would wear every single look from this runway show!

Pastels and Brights #5

Walking around the city, I looked at some of my favorite windows. I definitely saw a color story happening in common with a lot of stores. Florals are all the rage this season so pastels and whites are very common in window themes. Also, brights and pops of colors really catch your eye.
Pop art at Cole Haan
Pink and white along with neon colors make up the majority of Kate Spade's windows
Sephora notes that Emerald Green is the color of the season!

In the streets #3

Peplum Craze

Walking along the streets of New York, I can see that New Yorkers are ready for Spring. Colors are getting brighter and the peplum is back! This trend has been around for awhile, but lately I have seen it a lot for Spring 2013. Above are peplum from Alice and Olivia Spring 2013 RTW. http://www.style.com/fashionshows/review/S2013RTW-ALICEOLIVIA/
Here are a some I found!
The peplum is a popular style to dress up for a night out
Dressed down for a daytime look
Work Appropriate
This peplum is not so obvious. The peplum is seen a lot in the fall and winter in jackets and blazers.
How much longer do you think we will see the peplum for?

Sheer Brilliance #2

A trend seen on Spring 2013 runways was called a "veil look". This transparency look creates a lightness, movement, and a very feminine, sexy feel. Silk, chiffon, organza and mousseline are the fabrics used to create this affect. Many of the designers used this trend in unexpected ways. Instead of having the transparency on the top as you see a lot now, they have used it on the bottom half in a pant or skirt. The little peak of skin is an amazing look and makes a piece look light as a feather.

Daily Inspiration #1

Lauren Conrad's blog is one of my all time favorites. Not only does she talk about fashion, but she gives beauty tips and creative DIY projects. I have learned a lot of helpful tips from Lauren Conrad and I love her style so I constantly check her blog for ideas.
Bravo is my favorite channel on tv. Courtney Kerr was on a show called "Most Eligable Dallas". She always had on really great outfits. I went to her website to find out she had a fashion blog! I love how she pairs everything together and she even tells you where she bought the items! If she is wearing something that is no longer in stores she gives you other similar suggestions. Her style is very fun, young and flirty and I love getting ideas from her.
Rebecca Minkoff is my favorite designer. I am constantly on her style blog from her website. She shows you how you can wear some of her clothes, bags and jewelry. I mainly enjoy just looking at her latest designs. Rebecca Minkoff doesn't personally write the blog but people who work in the company do. The latest blog post I enjoyed was called "How to Wear Winter White." She takes one of her white bags and pairs it with a leather jacket so the "no white after labor day rule" no longer applies.
Atlantic Pacific is my favorite! Blair's style is exactly like mine (but better). Every outfit she posts I am in love with. She writes after every post what she is wearing and where to get it.
"Blair is a lover of all things colorful , chic, preppy and printed"
If I could describe my style in a sentence that would be it! I love blogs that are mostly pictures. I enjoy looking at clothes and seeing how people pair things together.
