Section From the blog entry by Cathy Horyn: "But if the process was something of an intellectual exercise for Mr. Simons, it did not show in the clothes. They were breathtakingly calm — fresh as can be for all the sharp, modern contrasts that they embraced. In fact, I heard people mentioning that as I left the show space. Each outfit seemed to reveal a different objective for Mr. Simons. There were the pop art references in a 1950s shoe and fashion illustrations that Andy Warhol did at the start of his career and which appeared on bags and on dresses (some embroidered) as part of a collaboration with the Warhol Foundation."
1. Silhouette and Design -Breathtakingly calm -Fresh -Sharp -Pop art references 1950's -Graphical Dimensions -Silhouette was different, tailoring legacy of Dior and more fluid shapes 2. Details -Tight bunch of frills -Surrealist embroideries 3. Color -Modern contrasts -Fairly simple white or black dresses 4. Fabric -Embroidered bags and dresses -Knit dresses 5. Creative "Jargon" -"Far-sighted collection" -"Injecting" more of his ideas -"Modernist" qualities -"Intellectual exercise" -"Remarkable, jivey series of knit dresses"
